Rotary Drum
The Stainless Steel Wedge Wire Rotary Drum Screen (also known as a Rotary Drum Strainer or Micro-Screen) is a continuously and automatically operating front-end solid-liquid separation device. Its core component is a large cylindrical drum installed horizontally or at a slight incline. The entire circumferential surface of the drum is covered with a stainless steel wedge wire screen (Johnson screen). The wastewater to be treated flows into one end of the drum. Under gravity, the filtrate passes through the wedge wire slots, while solid suspended matter (such as fibers, hair, plastic pieces, and fine particles) is retained on the inner surface of the drum. As the drum rotates slowly, the retained debris is lifted to the top, where it is flushed by spray water into a collection trough, achieving a continuous process of automatic screening, filtration, and residue removal
Screen Cylinder — Axial Internal Wire
This type of filter tube is characterized by an axial profile wire/axial slot direction. The support wire is oriented on the outside of the filter element in a radial direction. The smooth surface of the profile wire is on the inside and the filtration direction is therefore from the inside to outside.
Screen Cylinder — Radial Internal Wire
For this type of wedge wire screen re-roll tube, its support wire is located axially outside the tube, while the surface profile wire is located radially inside the tube. The filter surface of the triangular profile wire faces inward, thus the element employs a FITO (filtering direction from inside to outside) design.
The construction of these wedge wire tubes makes them easy to clean by a scraper on the inside.
Interstage Screen
The stainless steel wedge wire interstage screen, commonly known as a "Carbon Transfer Screen" or CIL/CIP Cylinder Screen in the gold extraction industry, is a core interstage separation device in carbon-in-pulp (CIP) and carbon-in-leach (CIL) gold extraction processes. It is a large horizontal cylindrical screen with a surface made of high-precision stainless steel wedge wire, installed between leaching tanks. Its primary function is to efficiently and non-destructively separate loaded carbon from slurry during the countercurrent adsorption of gold by activated carbon. It ensures carbon particles smoothly advance to the next adsorption tank while effectively retaining the slurry (containing fine tailings) and returning it to the previous leaching tank, enabling continuous and efficient gold adsorption and concentration.
Intake Screen
The stainless steel wedge wire slot tube (axial internal wire type, inside-out filtration) is the core precision filtering element in self-cleaning filters (e.g., brush/suction type filters). Its structural feature is that the wedge wires are arranged parallel along the axial direction of the tube and welded (different from traditional circumferential winding), forming precise longitudinal filtration slots. During operation, the liquid to be filtered flows from inside the tube and, driven by pressure, passes from inside to outside through the wedge-shaped slots. Impurities are trapped on the inner wall of the tube, while clean liquid collects and flows out from the exterior.
